ATTRACTIONS
Nestled in the
Allegany Foothills, the Town of Carroll has
beautiful rural areas of farmland and forest and
many other amenities within less than an hour drive.
Town Historical Society

Visit the Town of Carroll Historical Society at 5
West Main Street behind the Town Hall. They
are open on Saturday's May through September from
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Learn about the
history of our little town. From the
underground railroad to local logging in the
surrounding forests.
One of our local attractions is
Y-B Normal Alpacas at 473 Dodge Road
- 4 miles northeast of town
Martz Observatory is located 6 miles
northeast at 176 Robbin Hill Road
The Audubon Society located at 1600
Riverside Road, 3 miles to the south just outside of
Frewsburg. Walk the trails or visit Liberty
the American Bald Eagle.
The
Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural
History is 9 miles north at 311 Curtis
Street in Jamestown. You can enjoy wildlife
art and photography or view the collection of this
century's great naturalist - - Dr. Roger Tory
Peterson.
There are three
lakes that provide boating, fishing, and
swimming. Lake Erie is 35 miles to the north,
Chautauqua Lake is 8 miles northwest, and Kinzua
Lake is 14 miles to the east - - all of which have
motels, hotels, campgrounds, or primitive camping to
appeal to any interest.
There are campgrounds to numerous to mention that provide temporary sites for a week-end get-a-way or
seasonal permanent sites for summer residents.
The world renowned Allegany State Park
is just a short 36 miles away; with picnic
areas, two lakes, and cabins that can be rented
year-round. The Park borders on the Seneca Nation
of Indians where you will find the most modern
gaming and hotels in the area.
Forty minutes south to Erie, you will find horse
racing, gaming, and auto racing. There are
several up-to-date ski resorts for winter enjoyment
and golf courses from professional grade, private,
and public, to par 3 walking courses for any level
of player.
We are located 6 miles
south of Jamestown, NY; home of Lucille Ball.
There you can find the Lucy Desi Museum, Lucy Desi
Gift Shop, Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center
Inc., and the Lucille Ball Little Theater - - all dedicated to the life and legacy of one
of America's favorite personalities.
When in Jamestown, be sure to catch a show by the
Infinity Performing Arts Program -
- a group of young people dedicated to the arts.
