Town of Carroll, NY EVENTS
March/April
The
Saturday before Easter marks the Annual Easter Egg
Hunt. This is always held at the Frewsburg Central
High School football field (weather permitting).
If the weather is not suitable for an outdoor hunt,
the merriment moves into the high school gym.
June
Community-wide
Lawn Sales are held during the second weekend in June.
Maps are made available at the Clerk's office and
local businesses. Individuals can get their
sale on the map by contacting the Town Clerk.
Some area organizations throughout town offer
hotdogs and drinks during the sales.
July
July brings the
Frewsburg Gala
Days sponsored by the Frewsburg
Volunteer Fire Department. Festivities begin
on Wednesday evening and continue through Saturday
night. They include a Carnival with rides and
games; a food tent, gambling tent, and beer tent ran by Fire
Department Volunteers. The Department
provides nightly entertainment by
local bands performing in the beer tent. The
week is topped off with a Firemen's Parade on
Saturday afternoon. The parade features fire trucks and
equipment from fire companies throughout Chautauqua
and Cattaraugus Counties, as well as neighboring
northern Pennsylvania Companies. Also coming
into town are Drum and Bugle Corporations, and
different area business and organizations with
floats of all description.
November
The Saturday after
Thanksgiving is the day for the Annual Santa Parade
and Fire Department Craft Show.
This parade is old-fashioned, highlighted by
horse-drawn carriages and wagons of all kinds.
Some of the most beautiful teams of horses in the
area make the trip to participate in this parade.
Bringing up the rear of the parade is none other
than Santa himself. He is available to take
Christmas orders at his house on the fireman's
grounds. Then stop into the "Blue Building"
for the craft show and a cup of coffee and snack!
