Frewsburg was established in 1825 - - Town of Carroll and is the childhood home of Governor Rueben E. Fenton and Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson.

Town of Carroll Historical Society:

“The purpose of the Society is: to preserve, protect and share knowledge of the past and present through historical artifacts, sites, memorabilia and articles of historic interest pertaining to the Town of Carroll and surrounding areas; to use that knowledge for the benefit of the community; and to cooperate with all other organizations having similar aims and purposes.”

We are open to the public for our meetings at the Historical Society building, located behind Town Hall, the third Mondays of months February through November. Meetings start at 7:00 PM and often include a speaker or program regarding area history or history of local organizations and businesses. Meetings always include refreshments and good times. We are also open on Saturdays from May through September, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

 Admission is always free.

 We believe we should live in the present, with an eye to the future, and one foot planted firmly in the past.
